Twitter in Plain English

I’ve noticed more people that I would have imagined don’t know what Twitter is. I love this video put together by Common Craft.

Enjoy!

even after watching the video i still don’t get the appeal. maybe im just old fashioned in my enjoyment of well-written material, or perhaps im out-dated in thinking that a good way of finding out what people are doing/interested in is to ask them.

this video showed people using their phones to see what their friends were twitching or sputtering or what ever, but they based that on the assumption that these people dont actually use their phones to make calls anymore.

why do we have to enhance our friendships using digital discovery? what ever happened to talking?

It’s not one or the other – it’s in addition. How frequently do you and I actually talk or see one another? If you followed my Twitter feed not only would you know the little nuances of my life (like when I’m overwhelmed with new business proposals and need a drink) you would also know what blogs I follow, videos I think are worthwhile and the smallest isocracies of my thoughts. You know people use their phones for calls less then anything – I mean I tweet, text, email, use my GPS all from my “phone.” Oh – and it’s called tweeting…Grandpa.
